World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already have. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Upgrades can boost the stats of an item and add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is a key element in keeping him safe from harm. Although it isn't upgraded like weapons, you can enhance its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.
Armour is designed to shield animals or people from harm or injury from direct physical attack or a range of environmental or activity hazards. Historically, the majority of armour was made from leather or fabric, but metal protections were also used, especially for military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
There are a variety of ways to upgrade armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades available and more will provide higher levels of protection, and require a higher price in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been installed, they can't be removed unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the highest-level upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have all the components required to complete the process.
In terms of acquiring the necessary upgrade components you'll find them all over Hyrule such as shrines, shops as well as enemies. They're usually identified with an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol. They are available in large quantities as you progress through. Although they can appear randomly, there's a chance that obtaining certain upgrade components will trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It's also worth noting that, even though the level of protection offered by each upgrade varies, it is the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that can protect you from all kinds of attacks and will also protect against magic. This makes it an effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats so that they are suited to your particular build and even unlock new attachments such as unique ammo types, enchantments and more aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should be at a minimum of a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only be upgraded by one upgrade.

Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world from the enemy or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of components that can be put into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to grant an attribute bonus or additional effect while they're in use. They require that the equipment be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mixture of Smithing Stones and Runes, and are used for enhancing the base stats of a weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open or from merchants. They can also be obtained through combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon as well as an enhancement.
It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, and then items that you won't need to replace in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your shoulders, chest feet, hands, and shoulders when you are planning to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, based on your style of play, certain procs will be more beneficial than others. The same goes for Armour Reforges, with certain types being better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic. If an upgrade project has been cancelled, no more upgrades will be offered for that item. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but can have additional benefits.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. These are usually weapons, but they can also be armors, shields and cloaks, as well as potions. They can also be rings, scrolls or other items. Some of these items may be made sentient.
Most magic items can be upgraded so that they are infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful to players or help players overcome difficult situations. A weapon that contains an ingredient that is unique could offer, for instance, an extra level of damage to a particular type of enemy. This is particularly beneficial for characters who have reached a stage at which they'll likely encounter the same kind of monster in dungeons over and over again.
A ring that is infused with magic could provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character takes another long rest. This is particularly useful for combatants who are melee or any person who wishes to avoid purchasing a shield.
Certain enchanted objects possess special powers that allow the character to cast spells that aren't on their list of classes. This is a great benefit for a character who has trouble keeping their spell slots full due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table that is based on the amount of Intelligence points spent.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the user to alter their appearance, or create an entirely new appearance. These are particularly beneficial for those who have had to leave their home, or are in a place where they might not be accepted. A magical item could grant them an invisibility effect, or make them invisible to all other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment that don't fall into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons and Clothing, no utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items have a passive effect that players can activate by using them. Some have additional abilities that are activated by pressing a button or triggering the skill.
The Flashlight is the most common utilitarian item. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows him to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly produced in the Engineering section while others can be unlocked through research projects or experimental projects at the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those available in their regular inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items are upgradeable to make them more effective.
The majority of utilitarian items give players an advantage in navigation or boost the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, crafted by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. item upgrades like Writs and Theses made by the Scribe, can be utilized to give the player either an increase in damage or condition damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available once you have completed certain research, engineering, or research projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots are available by equipping a Grenade Launcher. This permits players to make use of an Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade remains in the main slot.
