World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.
For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
In the final game, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. item upgrader can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
The use of a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrade the equipment they have the original item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrade s. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like dolphins). This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
